The scent of cinnamon has always been more than just a scent for me—it’s a memory, a tradition, and a symbol of health. Growing up in Sri Lanka, I only knew one type: Ceylon cinnamon, known for its delicate flavor and incredible health benefits. It was a staple in our meals, our treatments, and our way of life.
When I moved to Saudi Arabia, I expected to find this distinctive spice in every home, just as it did in my own. Instead, I found cassia cinnamon—with its stronger flavor and distinct appearance—dominating the market.
I set out to introduce “real cinnamon,” Ceylon cinnamon, to my new home in Saudi Arabia.
It became a journey of discovery and quest.
Unable to find Ceylon cinnamon locally, I began bringing it from Sri Lanka for personal use. When I shared it with my friends and their family, their reactions were overwhelming. They immediately noticed the difference—the subtler scent, the milder taste, and most importantly, the superior health benefits. Their amazement ignited a passion within me to do more.
One of the people I shared it with was a businessman from Riyadh. When he realized the situation, the idea of Seylany was born. In 2024, we launched the brand with a clear goal: to educate the Saudi market about the unique goodness of Ceylon Cinnamon. And by the grace of God, our efforts are paying off. Many influencers, doctors, and health-conscious people are spreading awareness about the dangers of Cassia Cinnamon and the unique benefits of Ceylon Cinnamon.
